The Easiest, Most Reliable Way to Store It, Find It, and Get It!

The 1Safe™ desktop application is an advanced data-protection system combining file management and file backup in one user-friendly product.
Backup Advice

Ensure your backup plan is doing it's job by doing a restore from a backup set and making sure your critical files are restored properly.  You do not want to find out that you did not backup a critical file after your system has failed.
This version of 1Safe is designed for desktop computers. If you want to run 1Safe on a server, use 1Safe Small Business Server (SBS).

It provides simple and fast file protection, easy restore, and quick access to all files with powerful file-management capabilities.

1Safe desktop provides:

  • Backup to any removable media (tape, CD, Zip®, Jaz®, Orb, etc.)

  • Backup to any internal or external hard drive

  • Automated scheduling — Ensures regular, timely backups

  • File spanning — Won't lose files when media is out of space, file spans to next media and backup continues

  • Patented PFS file tracking — All file information for all your removable media is stored in, and accessed from, a local database

  • Database views from Explorer or 1Safe — Locate any file from any media whether it's in the drive or not

  • Drag-and-drop restore — Move files from the virtual drive and 1Safe prompts for media

  • Full-system restore — Includes Registry/System State

  • Rollback — Restore the entire system to a specific point in time

  • File versioning — Select any version of a file for restore

  • Drive-letter access to most removable-storage drives — Allows use for backup or general-purpose data storage (i.e. shows a tape drive like any other hard, floppy, CD, or DVD drive to allow users to drag-n-drop files to the tape drive via Windows Explorer)

Backing up open files

St. Bernard Software - Open File Manager 1Safe does not provide the ability to backup open files on it's own.  Rather, we work with St. Bernard Software and their Open File Manager application to allow 1Safe to backup open files.  1Safe 5.x and beyond works with St. Bernard's Open File Manager.  With St. Bernard's Open File Manager, 1Safe can back up open files.  Below are the links to learn more about St. Bernard's Open File Manager application.
